Power Distribution Line Fault Detection using Micro Controller

    The main objective of this paper is to detect the fault location in the power distribution system. Now days the main cause for the less efficiency for the distribution system is faults, mainly caused by lightning strokes and short circuits caused by the birds, and even by manual mistakes. These flaws in the distribution system can be effectively overcome by using the system developed by using the microcontroller based detection system. This is built by using 89c52 micro controller, interfaced with LCD display system, relay and a buzzer to indicate fault, by taking feedback from the distribution poles.
